Finally our internet connection is working again! (It doesn't allow picture upload though.)
Round 1 couldn't have turned out worse for Magnus, losing as white against "hard-to-beat" and top-seed Aronian. Magnus thought he was slightly better after the opening despite Aronian finding the critical Nb4 after 11.h3, but he misjudged his possibilities after d4 and also after the blow Rf3!

I was so impressed by Aronians good play in the first game. But Aronian is much older than Magnus. It is extremly good to beat someone like him in an event like this.

A very beautiful and important win by Magnus today to regain psychological parity - the next 3 games should be humdingers!
I honestly think that players should wear whatever they feel comfortable in - whether it's a suit or jeans and a T is their business - as long as we see hard fought exciting chess!

I agree with you that players should dress up, but for all except young ones like MC. Suits can make one look old; and I think the selling point for MC (et al) is his style. I will never forget the kasporov vs mc clash because the way magnus was dressed for the match.

What is the problem with people when they are on the Internet? Why do they speak like this? Swe_guy can not be Swedish, he can't be that poor in English? "any body", "you mother"? Well, of course he could be 10 years old. Both Anders and Swe_guy should find another site. Henrik is of course not responsible for what those guys write on this site.

if you are playing in a tournament and got your mobilphone on and someone call you, then you lose your game......
that was the joke, of cause in the high level magnus & aronian playing they are not alowed to even have a phone whit them while playing.
i guess every activ chessplayer understod the joke
