Hello Henry.

Thanks for the nice site for Magnus, which I think is often visited by his fans.

Could you please add to the tournament plan which f the tournaments are Elo Rated ?

thanks and regards

Kaled: The Biel tournament and the Grand Slam final are both FIDE Elo rated. The Blitz and Rapid events obviously aren't (due to the time controls)

et spørsmål at jeg ville skrive her noen månader siden:

tænker Magnus at man kan spille valget av noen åpinger av Bent Larsen mellan top-gms i dag. Det skulle være meget spannende!
(Jeg tror ikke at jeg får et svar her ;-) )

beste hilsen
Feuervogel :)

Is it a good idea to play a blitz tournament immediately before an important, high-powered, rated event? Going into a long time-control event with a blitz mindset seems like a recipe for disaster.

Mr. Carlsen, is the text in your blog very copyrighted? Can it be used for copy and paste into Chess Magazines for people who don't go or don't have time to go to Internet without violating your copyright isses? Used exactly as is in the text? If it is OK to use, can you please add someplace in your blog for all journalists to know they can use it freely, as is, with credits to you? Thank you!

Will Magnus only play in elite events now? I ask because a couple of years ago he played in the Reykjavik Open and I am wondering what it would take to get him to come back for the 2009 Reykjavik Open. I can't find any email for you, so I wrote this here. I was hoping to find out what it might take to have Magnus participate in a charity simul event during the Open.

All,
sorry for late response, I simply forgot to look at comments to this post.
Dan,
I've nearly given up second-guessing Magnus' choices. He seems to know what he is doing:-)
Jackson,
the text was meant for journalists and may be copied as long as it is creditted. I'll try to find a way to provide this info elsewhere in the blog also.
Ted,
you may write to me on hen-c at online dot no.
